Waldorf-inspired forest kindergarten
since May 2025
A weekly kindergarten in the forest for children aged 4–8 with:
- walk to the forest kindergarten
- morning circle with songs and games
- creative or craft activity
- shared picnic
- fairy tale or story time
- free play
- closing circle
- shared walk back
sleepover in the forest
since August 2025
When the weather is dry, we pack our hiking backpacks and head into the forest to our tipi camp. We gather firewood, cook and eat together around the fire, play guitar and sing, and finally spend the night together in the tipi.
Piano lessons on keyboard
since September 2025
Weekly lessons in pairs, where we:
- discover the basics of music theory (including reading and writing music and playing simple pieces from sheet music)
- train finger technique and hand coordination
- gain first experience in improvisation and composition
pony adventures
since October 2025
To accommodate different age groups and interests, we offer weekly activities with ponies that children can choose from:
- Pony lessons: basics of handling ponies, grooming, and using different equipment when working with them
- guided pony rides through the surrounding forests and fields
- riding lessons in the riding arena and trail riding, in English or Western riding style
English Tea time
since February 2026
Every other week, we gather for an afternoon of tea, play, and English. Children of all ages and language levels learn together through games, songs, movement, and conversation in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
In our permaculture garden, we pick fresh herbs for tea and whenever possible harvest seasonal fruit to bake our own biscuits.
Through these shared moments, English becomes part of everyday life and is learned with joy and curiosity.
Weekly Gardening & Cooking on the SOIL Meadow
since March 2026
A morning full of hands-on experience, teamwork, and connection with nature. The children learn how food grows from tiny seeds. They sow, care for the plants as they grow, and eventually enjoy the shared harvest.
While the gardening team gets their hands dirty, the cooking team washes and chops vegetables and prepares a nourishing meal for everyone over the fire.
In between all the work, there is always enough time for free play on the meadow: catching frogs, weaving flower crowns, climbing trees, and exploring nature.
Theatre Games
since April 2026
Our theatre games are based on drama education and encourage children to develop creativity, teamwork, communication, and confidence. Through role-play, improvisation, and movement, they learn to approach problems from different perspectives, express and regulate their emotions, and feel more comfortable speaking and performing in front of others.
The goal is not to train professional actors, but to provide a safe and playful space where children can grow, express themselves, and discover their own strengths.
Forest Musical
since May 2026
Over several months, we meet once a week in the forest to create a multilingual musical. We learn songs, design costumes, build a stage, and gradually create the story and performance.
Through this process, children experience music in a practical and playful way. We discover how to use our voice and body when singing, try out different instruments, learn to play simple melodies, and develop a basic understanding of music theory.
To deepen the creative process, in addition to the regular weekly meetings, two three-day Forest Musical camps are planned. During these camps, we not only continue working on the performance, but also cook together over the campfire and sleep in our tipi.
Nature-Kindergarten
March – April 2026
A weekly excursion into the forest with:
- hiking
- climbing
- building natural structures in the forest
- exploring the water current and building a water mill
- and playing with natural materials
nativity play
December 2025
After three weeks of intensive rehearsals and preparations, we staged our first musical, telling the Christmas story. Twelve children aged three to eleven took part in the trilingual production (Croatian, German and English). Together, we created a 20-minute performance that the children proudly presented to their families and friends.

January – December 2025
To give the children the opportunity to meet regularly as a whole group, and due to the great popularity of this activity, we met last year on a fixed day each week for free play in the “classroom” or in the forest.
4 Seasons to Grow – Kroz četiri godišnja doba rastimo
June 2024 – May 2025
Funded by the European Commission through the Croatian Mobility Agency within the EU AMPEU programme.
As part of this project, we organised a monthly excursion and workshop for children aged 3 to 10 over the course of one year, inspired by the seasons. In addition, we held four colourful seasonal festivals, bringing together parents, children, neighbours, and friends.
We also renovated and furnished a large room, which we now use both for workshops and for free play.
From the excursions and workshops, a pedagogical guidebook was developed, resulting in the following booklet in Croatian:
Kreativno rekreativno
June – November 2024
Funded by the Municipality of Gvozd.
For six months, we offered a monthly creative workshop for children aged 3 to 10 as part of this project. The themes ranged from parachute games and folk dances from around the world to children’s circus, percussion instruments, acrobatics, and theatre. In addition, free play gatherings were held regularly once a week in our “classroom”.
